New Calendar Page on IMF Website will replace blog posts for upcoming events.

I have recently added a calendar page to my website and will no longer post upcoming events as a blog post. I think this will be a more effective way to keep up with classes, workshops and special events in one handy location. So… go to my calendar page and check it out. PS. I may still add a workshop or special event to my workshop page. I haven’t decided yet whether the calendar page will replace or augment that page.

Every human movement requires balance. The primary purposed of our balance system is to keep us from falling. Yet our balance diminishes over time for many reasons, including disuse. To maintain our balance we need to challenge our balance. But our modern lifestyle does the opposite – it tries to make us more comfortable with smooth floors & sidewalks & shoes that protect our feet from feeling the uneven ground underneath us. There is an epidemic of injuries and deaths from falling. The good news is that it is never too early and never too late to improve our balance. Intelligent movements that challenge and improve our balance will help us move better and increases our sense of well-being.

Finding Good Posture at August 5 Artwalk

At this free event, I will be speaking about “Finding Good Posture” every half hour starting at 5pm, with the last presentation at 6:30 pm. Each presentation will include audience participation and time for questions and answers.

Come join us if you notice that you round your shoulders or keep your head forward in front of your shoulders, while you are driving, watching TV, sitting at your desk, texting on your cell phone. We live in a culture where bad postural habits prevail. They are easy to acquire and easy to keep. These habits, repeated often enough, can lead to repetitive stress injury and chronic pain. They can contribute to tightness and discomfort in the lower back and upper back. 

In order to attain Good Posture, we must know what it is & find it in our own bodies. Come to this Special Event to learn what makes Good Posture and find it in your own body.

In a Skype session, you will need a quiet space, a computer with Skype installed and your own working Skype Account, and a few pillows, blankets, towels, or strap to use as props. You will experience the same benefits and results that you would experience in a private in-person session.

Note: It will be important to have your Skype Account set up and working before our session. If you are new to Skype and need my help in setting up your Skype Account, I can work with you on this, but you need to ask for this help in advance so we can work together to have your Skype working before the time set for your session.
